I haven’t been able to find how many were built but these numbers give a clue:
A total of 1291 Mercury Econoline pickup trucks were built in 1965 while there were 7405 Ford pickups built the same year.
So, 10-20% that of Ford Econoline production.

From what I’ve seen, windows only on the side doors may have been exclusive to Mercury.

The Econoline pickup was quite a beauty, or at least it is now when restored.

Those Econolines were better looking than they had any business being. I didn’t even know Mercury sold a version of them. That must be extremely rare now given how few of those survived.

Oh, are you in Canada? I don’t think I knew that. Yeah, why does Canada get all this weird badge engineering bespoke to it? Not sure what niche it filled that was not served by the Ec ono line. Though you could say the same thing about the GMC Sava nah.

Fun Fact:
The
reasoning behind the Mercury light trucks north of the border was due
to the population being spread out over such great distances that some
areas were serviced only by either a Ford/Monarch dealership
or a
Mercury/Meteor store. The latter wouldn’t have had any trucks to sell
without selling the
Ford lineup, so instead the Mercury light
truck line was created.

That almost makes sense until you examine the logic b ehind Mercury/Meteor and Ford/Monarch being separate dealers. Now I wonder why they sold so few of them. Were Mercury/Monarch dealers just way less prolific?
And, well, okay. I’m sure Canada’s version of “ dark bidding” is anonymous bidding at charity auctions anyways.
